Things to Do at This Year’s Springburst

While at Springburst, here’s some cool stuff to look for and do:

  • We will have a running gear swap table, so bring your gently used or new running gear to add to the treasures others may find.
  • Do the flavors chocolate coffee cinnamon, banana puddn’, or oatmeal raisin whet your whistle? It does ours, so how about stopping by the Vonnie’s Cookies vendor table to purchase some pre- or post- race protein cookies —  infused with whey protein powder? Whey protein powder contains a number of antioxidant substances that help prevent diseases and promote overall health not to mention rebuilding skeletal muscles post run. One large cookie prices at $2.
  • Take in the scenery on the beautiful WB&A trail. The weather promises to be perfect for Saturday!

Calling All Springburst Volunteers!

This year’s Springburst race is going to be the best ever – WITH YOUR HELP! We have more than 100 runners registered. There will be prizes, food, a ‘running stuff swap table,’ a new location (WB&A Trail) and a new free 1K kids run. Plus: the weather is predicted to be sunny and warm.

To give every runner a great experience, we need a few more cheerful volunteers:

  • Parking Lot marshal (new this year)
  • Set up help
  • Clean up help
  • Refreshment table
  • Bib handout (need 1 more)
  • Water stop (need 1 more)

Please register here to fill any of these positions (and be a PGRC s/hero!). There will be donuts and coffee for all volunteers! Many positions allow you to run the race, too.

Thanks a bunch, and please email PGRC Volunteer Coordinator Chris Nichols with any questions.

P.S. The race is this Saturday, April 13, 9 am start time. Park at the Glenn Dale Splash Pool. We are using the adjacent WB&A trail as the race course. If you have not registered, today is the last day!
