Join us on January 19, 2026, for the next installation of our Federal Holiday Fun Run Series and celebrate Non-Violence and the rich memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As always, we welcome all ages, paces, and abilities – including walkers! Friends, family, and leashed dogs are welcome; however, dog owners should note that dogs are not allowed on the Brown Trail (see map). Don’t forget to wear your PGRC gear if you have it!
Date: Monday, January 19, 2026

Time: 8:45 am for introductions. Run starts at 9:00 am.

Location: Jug Bay Natural Area

Route: The main group will run or walk the Green Loop trail (total 2.2 miles – see map). It is a mixed surface trail including a hard pack dirt portion, but a good portion of the trail is paved road.

Those looking for a longer run/hike may consider the Red Loop (4.2 miles, dirt). Both trails are accessible from the parking lot.

Parking: Free and ample. Note: There are multiple entrances to the park. For ease of finding the group, please navigate to 16000 Croom Airport Road, Upper Marlboro, MD. Stay on Croom Airport Road and drive past the entrance to the Visitor’s Center, approximately .5 miles from the main gate. The road will come to a “T.” Parking will be on the right. There are two porta-potties on the trail.

Advisable: The roads to and through the park are wooded and winding with low speed limits. From Hyattsville, the drive to the park can take 50-60 minutes, so please plan accordingly.
We suggest you bring bottled water, binoculars to spot some Osprey, and may be your favorite snack.
