Join us for Wine & Dine Wednesday – February 27th

Come and celebrate our one year anniversary “Wine and Dine” fun run. Hope all can make it out for some good running, fellowship, and wine afterwards. The weather will be chilly, but dry. Still good for running, but do wear reflective gear or headlights AND some PGRC paraphernalia. The route is at the end of this email, but may be adjusted.

We’ll meet at Riverdale Towne Center Market at 7:00 pm for an easy loop run (route below) AND enjoy some wine afterwards at the market. BTW, their wine is on tap so bring your wine card if you bought one before or money for your wine.

The Towne Center Market isn’t a bar that serves food, but you can order food like pizza and sandwiches from next door  – Dumm’s Pizza.  It is literally a few steps  from Towne Center, and they deliver food to the market so bring some money for pizza.

Bring a friend or — better yet — a former PGRC’er!  Let’s get our former members together, and what better way than over a glass of wine!

Running Route (2 1/2 – 3-ish miles):

From the Town Market, start on Queensbury Rd. Continue running on Queensbury passing the Rite Aid and continuing to 39th St/place. Make a left here. Run to Oliver Street and make a right onto Oliver. Continue on Oliver making a right onto Queens Chapel Road. Continue on Queens Chapel road and then make a right onto Queensbury, finishing at the market.   

PGRC Annual Member Picnic & Volunteer Recognition – September 22, 2018

Come on out Saturday, Sept. 22, noon – 4 for the Prince Georges Running Club’s picnic! All members and your families are invited. We love our volunteers, and this is a chance to thank YOU!

Come prepared to share fellowship, with food, fun, games and volunteer recognition. Food and drinks of all kinds will be provided (vegetarians and carnivores will both be happy), and since Chris is planning it, there might be a keg!

The park offers beautiful trails, a nature center, children’s playgrounds, ballfields and more. Look forward to playing, relaxing and planning that next great race with your fellow PGRC members.

Thursday Night Run/Walks with Calvert Brewery

Join PGRC as we co-host Thursday night runs/walks with Calvert Brewery in Upper Marlboro. Join us at 6:30pm every other Thursday at Calvert Brewery for a 2 to 3 mile run/walk. Afterwards, runners/walkers receive 1/2 off their first beer. The next run/walk is on May 24th.

PGRC will be at the Tots 2 Teens Expo! Join us at our table this Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10am to 5pm at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex. Represent the running club by wearing your PGRC shirts and gear to the event.

Join us for a holiday run on President’s Day!

Join the PGRC crew on Monday, February 19th, 8 am, at the parking lot for the Glenn Dale Splash Park,11901 Glenn Dale Road (Route 193).

Depending on the ambitions of those present, we will take the Washington Baltimore and Annapolis Trail either south to Annapolis Road (3.8 miles out and back) or north to Race Track Road (8.2 miles out and back).

When you’re done, the Board will want to know whether you think the club should sponsor a race on the WB&A. We hope to see you there!
