Once again PGRC will be partnering with the Greenbelt Recreation Department to host the Buddy Attick Summer Fun Run series. The series is part of Get Active Greenbelt and provides an excellent opportunity for all levels of runners and walkers to exercise in a friendly and welcoming environment throughout the summer months. Races will take place EVERY Thursday @ 7pm (registration 6:15pm-6:45pm) during July 9 – August 13.
The course will take runners and walkers around the scenic and shaded Buddy Attick Park lake path for their choice of either 1.75 miles (1 lap) or 3 miles (2 laps). Meet at Greenbelt Youth Center parking lot (99 Centerway Greenbelt, MD 20770 – behind the library).
Register (for free!) on RunSignup before your first race. You will be assigned a race bib that will be used for the entire series.

Join PGRC for a fun, flat, and scenic 5k race through Lake Artemesia in College Park, MD. This event features two races: The women’s race starts at 7:30 am. This event is part of the Maryland Women’s Distance Festival 5k Series. A men’s race will follow, starting at 8:30 am.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
7:00 AM – Packet pickup begins
7:30 AM – Women’s Distance Festival 5K starts
8:30 AM – PGRC Men’s 5K starts
COURSE & DIRECTIONS
The course will take participants around the flat, scenic Lake Artemesia path for 3.1 miles. Participants can park in the lot at Herbert Wells Ice Rink – 5211 Campus Drive, College Park, MD 20740, and walk north (via trail or crosswalk) to the race start.
REGISTRATION & PREMIUM
The first 100 registrants will receive a premium.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers of the race (both male and female), and top finishers in 5 year age groups (both male and female).

This is the 46th year of the Women’s Distance Festival being sponsored and supported by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Since 1979 the RRCA has celebrated the history of women’s rights to participate in running events at any distance and at any age. The race culminates the state of Maryland’s RRCA Women’s Distance Festival Series.
