Looking for training programs this winter? PGRC has lots of options for you! In addition to the informal winter marathon program, there are also programs to train for an 8K race and a 10-miler!
10-Mile Club Challenge Training
In preparation for the RRCA Club Challenge on February 25, 2018, Coaches Dave Roeder and Ndegwa Kamau will lead an informal 10 mile training program starting Saturday, January 6, 2018. The training schedule calls for 4 days per week to allows us to train for the longer distances on a flat course and then focus on the hills in Greenbelt Park with a shorter course. Winter 8K Training
The 8K winter Running Program is a two-month training program, for adults of all ages and abilities, which will train you to run an 8 kilometer (4.97-mile) race. The program will build your endurance with a combination of walking and running over time. In addition, the program will offer the benefits of improved cardiovascular fitness, reduced adverse health factors, safe training methods, and fun!
