We’re recruiting coaches for our training programs!
- A desire to help other runners meet their training goals;
- Completion of the Level I Coaching Certification course
- A passing score on the Level I Coaching Certification exam; and
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (required by RRCA)
There are two Level I Coaching Certification courses scheduled in the area, one in April during the National Convention in Arlington, VA and a second course in Frederick, from June 2 – 3.
You may be eligible for reimburse of the Certification Course fee after passing the exam and coaching 1 – 2 PGRC training programs.

Looking for training programs this winter? PGRC has lots of options for you! In addition to the informal winter marathon program, there are also programs to train for an 8K race and a 10-miler!
10-Mile Club Challenge Training
In preparation for the RRCA Club Challenge on February 25, 2018, Coaches Dave Roeder and Ndegwa Kamau will lead an informal 10 mile training program starting Saturday, January 6, 2018. The training schedule calls for 4 days per week to allows us to train for the longer distances on a flat course and then focus on the hills in Greenbelt Park with a shorter course. Winter 8K Training
The 8K winter Running Program is a two-month training program, for adults of all ages and abilities, which will train you to run an 8 kilometer (4.97-mile) race. The program will build your endurance with a combination of walking and running over time. In addition, the program will offer the benefits of improved cardiovascular fitness, reduced adverse health factors, safe training methods, and fun! Registration is now open for the Club Challenge 10M on February 25, 2018. The race is open only to members of Maryland and DC RRCA clubs, so please make sure you are a current PGRC member before you register.
PGRC is offering a free training program to prepare you for the race. The group meets during four of our regular club runs (track nights on Tuesdays at 6:45pm, Thursday 6:30pm runs at Herbert Wells Ice Arena, Saturday Greenbelt Park at 8am, and long runs Sunday 8am at Mission BBQ in Greenbelt). The first run will be January 6, 8am at Greenbelt Park.
